If you are referring to the rent you pay for
an apartment or place, there
is no deduction allowed on the federal return. However, some states offer
renter credit for taxpayers who qualify. In the TurboTax online program, under
the state tax section, you would have to go through the state step-by-step
interview questions to enter that information.

If you are referring to any rental income or
expenses you incurred as a landlord, please follow the steps :

   1. After sign into your account,
select Take me to my return

  2. At the right upper corner, in the
search box , type in schedule e and press Enter

  3. Select Jump to schedule e

  4. On next screen, Did you have
any rental or royalty income and expenses in 2015 for property you
own? answer Yes and continue to follow the prompts.

5. You will need to upgrade to the
TurboTax Premier version to complete your transaction. Just follow the prompts
and program will guide you through the
process
