topic Turbotax keeps subtracting mortgage interest for my primary home from CA return. Had a 1098 for primary home (which had 1 room rented out), and another for a 2nd home. in Investors & landlords

1098 mortgage interest for my primary home was entered through Schedule E, and Turbotax calculated my personal deduction portion to put onto Schedule A. Turbotax is rejecting this calculated portion from the CA filing, thus pushing it as a negative amount under "adjustment for interest and points reported on 1098". Effort to override this with a $0 is met with errors.

This seems to be a product error, as the entire mortgage interest deduction as reported on Schedule A should be deducted from my CA filing (there's no indication/rules that state otherwise). Please help.
