what is the most basic version for me to start with, and as needed, can I simply upgrade? How do I "clear" the version that is recommended now (based on last years filing)?

If you want to work online, you'll need to use TurboTax Online Premier to enter your investment income (Schedule D). Alternately, you could use a TurboTax CD/Download software product to prepare your tax return. Please see the product guides below for more information.

Note: If you want to downgrade to a lower version of TurboTax Online, use the Clear and Start Over feature.
