      <description>&lt;P&gt;If you have a loss on Schedule D, the IRS allows up to $3000 to be deducted in the current year, with the balance to be carried forward to next year. If you have a loss greater than $3000, then yes it will be available for next year.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
