      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;B&gt;Yes.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/B&gt;Arkansas has adopted its version of Federal capital&amp;nbsp;gains treatment.&amp;nbsp; In Arkansas, short term capital gains are&amp;nbsp;determined the same as short-term Federal capital gains:&amp;nbsp; an asset sold within one year or less of acquisition.&amp;nbsp; In Arkansas, these gains are 100% taxed as ordinary income, just as on the Federal side.&amp;nbsp; Long-term capital gains, however, are 50% excluded from Arkansas tax, and the remaining 50% are taxed as ordinary income.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
