I have Premier desktop installed on a PC. I go through the import process for both Schwab and Vanguard, and it seems to run properly (including the message: "Success! We got your tax data.") . However, I cannot then "continue" to a new screen. If I hit "continue", it just takes me through the same process of importing (which I've done). There's never an option to go on to the next import. If I go back, it says there's nothing imported (and if I switch to Forms there's no data where there should be data). I tried this with both brokerages, with the exact same issue. Spoke to an Intuit helper, who was unable to help (she said, just enter it manually... but that's a lot of entries when I get to stock transactions!). This hasn't been an issue in prior years. Is there a software glitch? Is someone trying to fix it? Or is there a secret work-around? Please, would some Expert help!!

If you received a "Success" message but your data hasn't appeared in TurboTax, it is likely due to recent browser security updates regarding Local Network Access.

To fix this you need to allow TurboTax to securely retrieve your data through your browser settings:

Locate the View Site Information icon (the "tune" or "lock" icon) on the far left of your address bar, just before the URL.

Find Local Network Access in the dropdown menu.

Toggle the switch to ON.

Refresh the page and attempt your import again.

If permissions aren't the issue, one of the following factors may be at play:

Brokerage Delays: While most forms arrive by January 31, many brokerages delay Consolidated 1099s (like the 1099-B) until mid-February due to complex reporting requirements.

Availability: Your brokerage must specifically "release" the import file to TurboTax. If it isn’t ready, we recommend checking back.

Connection Blocks: Active VPNs or aggressive Anti-Virus software can occasionally block the import feature between your bank and TurboTax. Try disabling them temporarily or switching to a different browser.

Helpful TurboTax Articles:

I have tried this and am still having an issue importing from Schwab. This has never been an issue in the past. Why is it not working? Schwab said the forms are available for download.

Some have received a message from Charles Schwab saying downloads would be enabled on Feb 27th. Maybe you have some forms that are not available yet.

I have been unable to import my files from Schwab. They notified their clients all tax documents were available to be imported. I contacted Schwab and they claim the problem is with Turbo Tax. I can sign into my Schwab account and make the connection through my Turbo Tax Premier Windows desktop, but, I eventually get a screen telling me they are not available. giving me the option to have them imported when available. I tried to do this and was able to toggle the selection, but, the "DONE" button would not activate despite clicking on it a number of times noting when I click on the button it recognizes it has been clicked (i.e. blinks quickly) but not activated. I have tried both Chrome and Edge. Neither browser works.

Schwab says ALL tax forms are available to download. Turbo Tax connects, for a brief moment and then stops.

So... I was able to work around this problem, thanks to Chatgpt (not anyone from Turbotax, unfortunately). The secret is this... start a new tax return. You can tell TurboTax to populate it with your prior year's information, but otherwise, don't work on it at all. Find the "Import" section and import your brokerage information (as the first thing you do). Then, once you have verified that it's there, you can begin working on the rest of the return. I bow to our A.I. masters...

Thanks. I appreciate the suggestion, but, I tried this and still no luck and NO IMPORT. I also went through Co-pilot's suggestions without success. All fingers point to Turbo Tax's importer. Hope they provide an update quickly. Otherwise, I will need to see if the Schwab export and then Turbo Tax import manual method works.

Same issue as RTOM above... unable to click on the 'OK' button. Composite file is present on Schwab. Tried changing to Chrome as default browser instead of Edge and that didn't help either. Didn't have any issues last year. Points to an Intuit issue.

In TurboTax Online, you can drag/drop a PDF file of your 1099-B into your return. In TurboTax Desktop, enabling LAN setting in your browser and disabling your anti-virus programs solved the import issue for many users.

Remember that the IRS already has copies of all your 1099's, so using the Summary Method to report category totals is all that's required on your tax return.
