Turbotax data from amended 2023 return carry forward to next filing year in TurboTax

Hi-

I learned that I need to amend my 2023 state tax return (in Wisconsin I can file electronically with TT). The reason is that I need to include capital loss not carried forward from 2022.

Question: will TurboTax pull forward data from this amended 2023 return into my 2024 tax return? Or, do I have to manually input relevant 2023 data into my 2024 return?

You can only transfer from 2023 at the beginning before you start 2024. So you would have to clear out 2024 and start over. Otherwise you have to enter any 2023 changes manually. Are you using the Desktop program or the Online version?

For Online....You can transfer it again but doing this will also clear out all your current entries. If you haven't filed, registered or paid you can try to clear and start over

For Desktop go up to File-New Tax Return to transfer from 2023 again.
