Hi, I have $3474 short term loss and long term capital loss of $10,398 in 2023. I submitted $3000 losses in 2023. How much of the remaining $10,872 should I split between short and Long term carryover losses?

You don't have to split your carryover, each year you will be able to deduct $3,000 which will be deducted from your total capital loss carryover. Your carryover loss will transfer to your 2024 tax return.

Thanks for your suggestion. I didn't used Turbotax in 2023. I did it thru CPA. I am doing 2024 taxes using Turbotax. I guess , i may have to enter the carryover amount manually.

It is easier just to enter it manually.
