    <description>&lt;P&gt;If in 2021 you had a capital loss of $6000,&amp;nbsp; and you claim only the $3000 (that is the max allowed when you file jointly) and in 2022 and 2023,&amp;nbsp; you do not carry over the remaining $3000 (because you forget). Can you make the carryover in 2024?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;No, you must apply the carryover to the next year, you can't skip years like you mention. You could go back and amend previous years to take the deduction in the correct year though.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
