topic 1099-DIV amount not showing up in summary. in Investors & landlords

I entered a 1099-DIV amount in the interview (about four times), but that amount won't show up in the income summary. It seems to be impacting taxes due, such that the amount is in the program, but income summary shows zero for 2017. There is an amount showing for 2016. Are others experiencing this glitch?

Same with my 1099-MISC entry. The amount shows up for 2016, but 2017 amount won't show up in income summary despite entering it about four times.

I had the same issue. What worked for me is that I kept going with the return. Later in the form, I believe under business expenses and income, The program all of a sudden dumped my directors fees in that category, rather than under the 1099 – MISC. I don’t know if it will do the same thing for you, but I would suggest just keep going and then check back to see if the amount was entered in a different category. It is somewhat confusing – – or was to me – – but if you click on the little information line on the 1099 – MISC category it does tell you to wait and see if it throws it into another category to avoid double entries. I am not sure why they do it that way, but then that is why I’m using TurboTax. I’m not an accountant, and don’t even play one on TV. I hope this helps.
