Suppose it is 2016 now and you are filling out your tax returns for the 2015 year. If you attended more than half time in 2015, then you would say you are a full-time student on the return. I don't think form cares what you are doing in 2016.

Your occupation has absolutely no effect on your tax return. You can put student if that's what you prefer, or you can put your occupation at Wendy's. It's completely up to you.
