I was checking IRS wage transcript for 2024 (filed in 2025) and it shows "second notice issued" on one of the form 1099 INT. There are no notices online and tax status / audit reports are clear. I did confirm that i submitted this 1099 on tax return for 2024 with correct dollar. Not sure why IRS transcript shows second notice issued?

Form 1099 INT

Citi

Second notice indicator: Second notice issued

It should be ignored if you have not physically received any letter from the IRS. Also, you have already done the work of verification and confirmation you did include your interest income on your tax return. It could be an internal indicator.

Steps you can take if you choose:

Check the Notice Number: Identify the specific notice code on your transcript (e.g., CP05, CP11, CP5071) to understand the exact cause, as shown on the IRS website.

A Letter: If you do receive a letter you should respond immediately.

Check Account Transcript: Review your IRS Account Transcript for specific Transaction Codes (TC) that explain the action taken, as explained on the Taxpayer Advocate Service website

I have the snip attached. there is no notice code either. Could this be an error. Is this what you mean by internal indicator? Thank you once again

This is a technical notation for the bank/payer, not a signal that you are in trouble or under audit. The IRS likely sent a notice to the payer (your bank or the bond issuer) stating that the TIN (Social Security Number) or name on the account didn't match their records.

This notation indicates that the payer has been notified a second time within three calendar years. If the bank required any action from you, they would send you a notice asking you to verify your SSN (usually via a Form W-9).
