I don't want to buy turbotax deluxe so I need the lifetime learning credit removed.

However, unless you remove the answers in the interview that caused the form to be created, it will come right back. The best thing for you to do is clear and start over. The harder way is the find the part of the interview where you claimed the credit and change those answers. Then delete the form. But that will not change your return back to Deluxe. The only way to do that is to clear and start over.

If you are eligible, but not wanting, the Lifetime Learning Credit,

Delete the Form 8863 as ChondelLO suggested, and also delete and do not re-enter your 1098-T.

If there is no tax liability due to the 1098-T (scholarships in Box 5 less or equal to Tuition in Box 1) do not enter the 1098-T into your TurboTax program since it will, in your case, generate a credit.
