topic college student software subscription in Education

My son is a college student and has a subscription to the Adobe software suite, which is billed monthly. I'm assuming he claim this as a college expense, since his professor told him to get it. Also, does he claim the whole year, or just the months covered while attending college? Adobe doesn't allow him to suspend the account over the summer.

To be an eligible education expense, it must be REQUIRED for the course so make sure that you get a confirmation in writing (usually the syllabus). You should only use the months that he was attending that class.
