I am eligible for American Opportunity Credit but Turbotax keeps telling me I am not and I cannot override it.

I am a student, who is funding myself independently. While trying to complete my tax returns for 2019, I keep running into trouble with AOC. I meet all the criteria for American Opportunity Credit but Turbotax keeps giving me Lifelong Learning Credit instead. I am a senior in college and have not yet received my degree and did not make more than $80000 last year. I tried this solution: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/college-education/discussion/to-change-your-education-credit-or-deduction-open-cont/01/127283#M3960 to override Turbotax but mine says "N/A" below AOC. I have tried removing the form 1098-T that I have entered a couple of times, and it did not help. Is there a way to amend this problem?

Try to delete the form and then re-enter it. Take care when answering the questions.

Open your return in TurboTax.

In the left side bar, select Tax Tools> Tools.
In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet and follow the onscreen instructions

Thank you for your answer! Actually, I have tried deleting the form 1098-T a couple of times and it still did not help me. It still says I am not eligible for the AOC. Are there any other forms that I should be deleting?

If the program if offering the Lifetime Learning Credit, but not the American Opportunity Tax Credit, you should go back through the Education Interview Questions. Either you answered an interview question that is eliminating the AOTC, or your income is too high to claim it. Since you say your income is under the phase out amount, there must be an interview question involved. If you already claimed the AOTC 4 times, (you or the Taxpayer claiming you) the credit cannot be claimed again.
