      <description>&lt;P&gt;The &lt;B&gt;education credits&lt;/B&gt; go with the dependency &lt;B&gt;exemption&lt;/B&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If &lt;B&gt;you are claiming&lt;/B&gt; your son as a dependent, &lt;B&gt;you take the education credit&lt;/B&gt;. &amp;nbsp;You put the 1098-T on your tax return.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If &lt;B&gt;he is taking&lt;/B&gt; his own dependency exemption,&lt;B&gt; he takes the credit &lt;/B&gt;and puts the 1098-T on his tax return.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;He will get the &lt;B&gt;standard deduction&lt;/B&gt; as a dependent. &amp;nbsp;There are &lt;B&gt;no other deductions&lt;/B&gt; for him to take.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
