      <title>I left school in the spring of 2017 and still owed them money? Paid some tuition in Jan. 2017 &amp;amp; some after I left. Will they report tuition payments for 2017 on 1098T?</title>

      <description>I'm on a monthly payment plan now with them since August so will they report my payments and as I continue to pay in 2018 &amp;amp; 2019 will I get a 1098T for those years too?</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Probably, for 2017. But it doesn't matter. You may claim the tuition credit based on the payments you made in 2017. Keep good records.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The 2018 and 2019 payments cannot be counted toward the tuition credit. You will, most likely not get a 1098-T, but even if you do, you can't claim it.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Assuming you are eligible, for the ,most generous credit, the AOC*, you only need to have paid $4000 in 2017 to get the maximum amount.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;
