&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It depends on your child's age at the end of 2016.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;If your child is under 24 at the end of 2016 and a full-time student, you can claim her as a dependent if you provided more than half of her support, regardless of her income. You can also claim her education expenses (on form 1098-T). She will file her own tax return and indicate that she is being claimed as a dependent in the Personal Info section of TurboTax.&lt;/P&gt;



&lt;P&gt;If she is 24 or older, you cannot claim her as a dependent if she had gross income of more than $4,050 in 2016. She will file her own tax return and claim her education expenses.&lt;/P&gt;
