topic Is the 1098 Education Tuition Form Supposed to Increase Refund? in Education

I have done some research on the 1098T form and I'm still confused. I added information from my 1098T form on my tax returns and it increased my refund exponentially. Is this accurate that my refund would go up after using my 1098 form? This is my first time filing with this and I don't want to get in trouble.

It's very common to see a substantial refund increase after entering Form 1098-T. The government offers two tax credits and a tax deduction for taxpayers who report qualified education expenses on their returns. TurboTax automatically determines which tax credit or deduction you're eligible for gives you the largest refund.

Please follow this link for more information. https://www.irs.gov/uac/tax-benefits-for-education-information-center
