Voyager, sold my crypto after freezing everyone's account to recover a 1k balance. I lost 4xwhat I owed them because of the value dipping. But since the app is bankrupt and holding everyone crypto hostage, im not quite sure how to report this for my taxes. Does anyone have any idea on how to report that you lost a lot of money because the app sold your assets?

It is entered as a normal sale ... you bought the crypto for X and sold it for Y and gets reported on the Sch D ... the rest of the story is immaterial.

Please contact Voyager to see what you need to do ... but if they actually sold your crypto (even without your permission) then it is a reportable sale.

Got it. Voyager is going throught bankruptcy. I dont think they have a customer service line. Nut i will contact stretto. Thanks.
