I now have an EIN number that I made to give out to a client because I did not feel comfortable providing my SSN on the W9 form. How does this change how I do my taxes since I used to do all of my filings with my SSN? Is there anything I have to do differently? I have no employees, or LLC, it is just me making freelance income. Thank you

In reviewing your business information in TurboTax, say that you have an EIN and enter the EIN.

Apart from that, nothing will change. You will report your your business income and expenses on Schedule C just like in past years.

Thank you. I just made my EIN in 2020, should I still say I have an EIN when I file 2019 taxes in Turbo Tax?

Thanks!

If you only obtained your EIN in 2020, then do not enter it on your 2019 tax return.
