Santa Barbara Tax Products Group-they are the company that processes the refund whenever you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal. The refund is sent to them, the fees are deducted, and then the remainder is sent to your bank.

Yes. Federal and state are completely separate and refunds come at different times from different places. A state refund comes directly from the state.

You do not need to use them. They are the 3rd party bank your refund has to go though so they can take the fees of of your refund. There is an EXTRA 39.99 for that Refund Processing Service. If you pay the fees upfront with a credit card before you file you get your full refund directly from the IRS.

If you were due to get both Federal and State refunds, they come in separate deposits. Did you have both refunds? If so, be sure you are not using the total amount displayed on the screen in your TurboTax account. TurboTax displays the total of both refunds, and it can be confusing. For some time we've asked them not to do that, but they still do.

Look at your actual Federal return Form 1040, Line 20a to see what your Federal refund amount was supposed to be. Then if you had any fees paid out of it, subtract it from the amount on Line 20a.
