if you are on windows machine ( i.e. using downloaded or CD version ), then from the top left ribbon select "view", then from the drop down list select "forms". Two panes open up -- left show all the forms in your current return , select schedule-C, the right pane shows the form selected, below the form there is "delete form" button , click this. now from the ribbon select "view" and from the drop down list, select "step-by-step". You are back where you were.

Note that if you are entering a 1099-misc, depending on which box is filled out -- you may need to use schedule-C
