Error- Cannot enter farm income, information, nothing! On phone with turbotax for 38 minutes, with no resolution!

Is anyone else getting error messages when trying to enter farm income? I have spoken to a rep, cleared all browsing history, deleted my forms completely and started over, tried different browsers, tried different computers, and no resolve!

When I click "yes" that I have farm income, get to the screen where I see my farm name, click the edit button, and a page that says "This is an error". I deleted my farm, try to add it new again, same error.

Now this morning, I can't even get to that page, I click yes that I have farm income and immediately get the error screen.

If you included depreciable assets on your farm return, on Schedule F, that could be causing the experience you see because depreciation has not been finalized. Form errors related to the main form (or Form 1040) may affect the income summary displayed in TurboTax.

We anticipate the depreciation calculations within the software should be updated on or after February 13, 2026. Our tech team is working hard to release the updates before that date.

I haven't included anything because I cannot get to any of the farm information. Do not have any depreciation assets. I cannot enter any information for our farm whatsoever, income, deductions, nothing.

Please clarify what version of TurboTax Online you are using. What operating system? What browser do you use most often? Have you cleared cookies as well as browsing history?

I am using the web version of TurboTax Premium for business owners. I have tried on windows 11 and a Chromebook. I have used Firefox, Edge, and Chrome. I have cleared cache, cookies, history, everything. The turbo tax rep guided me through all of that and had no resolution to offer.

We have tested Schedule F entries in TurboTax Online Premier but are unable to reproduce the experience you have seen. It would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2025" file that is experiencing this issue.

You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information.  If you would like to do this, please follow these instructions:

In TurboTax Online, open your return, go to the black panel on the left side of your program and select Tax Tools.

Then select Tools below Tax Tools.
A window will pop up which says Tools Center.
On this screen, select Share my file with Agent.
You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is.  Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number.
You may wish to snap a screenshot to post instead of the actual number.
Reply to this thread with your Token number (including the dash) and tag (@) the Expert requesting the token from you.
Please include any States that are part of your return - this is VERY important.

We will then test to see the experience you are having. If we are able to determine the cause, we'll reply here and provide you with a possible resolution.

We don't have access to anything you shared with a phone agent due to confidentiality issues. The only way we can review your return is if it comes as a diagnostic copy with all your personal information removed. If you wish to share that info, please provide a token as described previously and we'll take a look.

I'm having the exact same situation. I've done everything you did as well.

1. not able to add any farm income or expenses.

2. Adding or clicking "edit" on a farm leads to a page that says, "something went wrong"

3. I've cleared cache, cookies, tried Chrome and Safari.

4. I've tried to delete and add farms.

5. I was on a chat with an agent who could see my screen, and they couldn't find anything.

Is this an issue that turbotax is working on fixing?

I gave the agent I was on the phone with the token number, there was still no resolve and everyone I have talked to has been totally bewildered with no advice. After a week of messaging, calling and getting no where, the final agent told me I needed to purchase the TurboTax software and said it would work that way. I am not taking the chance. I have gone with a different company, was done with my taxes in a couple hours with no issues whatsoever, at less than half the price of turbotax. My taxes are now filed and complete. Very doubtful that I will return to TurboTax over this issue, you would think a company so large that makes so much money off of their customers would have tried a little harder to find resolution. There are many others having the same problem.

I am so sorry and I feel your frustration! After two weeks of going back and forth on phone calls that lasted over half an hour each time, I gave up. I tried three different computers and every browser that exists. I hated to go with another company because all of my history is on turbotax but they left me with no choice when they simply offered no resolve and acted like it was my problem to deal with, suggesting that I leave off the farm income at one point!

I used TaxSlayer. Their layout is different, but no issues, errors, or problems!

im having the same problem mine says Sorry Something went wrong. When i talk to agent she told me that i would get an email when fixed and have not seen anything yet. Glad its not just me.

I'm glad they have at least acknowledged that it is an issue for you and not just shrugging it off. I don't know how they could not know that it is a wide spread problem at this point.

To the TurboTax Support and Product Leadership Team,

I am contacting you regarding the continued and unacceptable delay in correcting the Schedule F (Farm Income) error within TurboTax.

This issue has been known for an extended period of time and is still preventing millions of farmers from filing their federal tax returns. At this point, the lack of resolution, transparency, and urgency is indefensible. Farmers are being placed at financial risk due to your failure to deliver a working, compliant product for one of the most common and critical tax forms used in agriculture.

This delay is directly impacting:

Filing deadlines and compliance
Cash flow planning and operating loans
Lender and partnership reporting requirements

TurboTax markets itself as a reliable, professional tax solution. Right now, that claim does not align with reality for agricultural filers.

I expect the following:

A clear explanation of why this error has not yet been corrected
Identification of what is causing the delay
A firm, non-speculative timeline for when Schedule F will be fully functional

Continued vague responses or “working on it” updates are not acceptable given the scale of impact. Millions of taxpayers should not be held hostage by unresolved software issues.

Please treat this matter with the urgency it warrants and provide a substantive response immediately.

Thanks so much for stating the problem in such a compelling and articulate way. I am experiencing the same problem. I have had good luck with turbotax for many years and I hate to lose the historical information, but these inconceivable and inexplicable delays are impossible.

As a long time turbo tax customer, I had turbo tax assitance via on the phone, chat, clear cache, deleted my farm, remote in, and did everything they asked to help resolve the error message I received when I tried to edit my income for our ranch and received the "something is wrong error". I was advised Turbotax is working on resolving the internal error and the customer service was great and tried to resolve the error, but no luck. Then I did some online research and found that the turbo tax subscription you need to edit your farm/ranch and get the schedule F is the Expert Assist Premium verison. Once I upgraded my turbotax subscription, I was able to edit my farm and open the Schedule F. It only took me over 2 weeks and hours of research to find a possible solution. Hopefully, I can finish my taxes this week. Figers crossed.
