      <description>&lt;P&gt;For tax purposes, disabled means&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1. unable to perform gainful work&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2. due to a condition that is permanent, lasting more than one year, or likely to lead to death.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Whether she could perform gainful work depends on the disability. &amp;nbsp;But in practical terms, checking the disabled box for a dependent doesn't change your tax return unless the dependent is over 13 or 18 years of age.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
