When I get to the screen it wants to know total miles traveled (including personal use I assume), then miles for my job, then miles for commuting (I assume the amount to get to and from the first location I drive to during the day and back home), and then the average daily commute (again I assume this is the amount for round trip distance from the first location to my house). So say I drove 8000 total, my commute is 12 round trip, and comes out to 2160 in a year, and my "job" (non cummute) miles are 1858. On the second line do I put 1858 or do I put 4018 (1858 + 2160)? I just don't want to mess up. And all these numbers are made up btw. Thanks!

Yes, you may deduct the mileage for work-related trips between job locations. But not the mileage to and from your primary work location (commuting miles).

The entry screen asks for:

Total miles for the year (ending odometer miles minus beginning miles)

Business miles for the year (total miles for work-related trips)

Commuting miles for the year (total miles between your home and your primary work location)

Average daily commute (total miles for one round-trip between home and work)
