My foreign earned income is exempt from federal income tax. Should this be the same for CA? Turbo tax is calculating it is, but not sure if it is because of information I entered when asked "what portion of my income did I earn outside of CA as a CA resident"

California does not allow a foreign tax credit or a foreign
earned income exclusion. If you claimed the foreign
earned income exclusion on your federal return, include
the amount of your foreign earned income exclusion on
Schedule CA (540NR), line 21f, column C.
