      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes you can claim the credit for expenses paid out of pocket as long as you had income from working during the year.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The description beside your daughter's name in Personal Info probably says non dependent for EIC/child care only.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
