      <description>&lt;P&gt;The IRS will only allow you to take a &lt;B&gt;Mortgage Interest Deduction&lt;/B&gt; if &lt;B&gt;you are actually liable&lt;/B&gt; for that mortgage. &amp;nbsp;If the mortgage is in your name, then take the deduction.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The IRS will only allow you to take a &lt;B&gt;Real Estate Tax&lt;/B&gt; Deduction if &lt;B&gt;you own the property&lt;/B&gt; you paid the taxes for. &amp;nbsp;If your name is on the title to the property, then take the deduction.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
