      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;B&gt;Yes&lt;/B&gt;, the IRS allows&amp;nbsp;you to claim medical expenses for medical procedures outside of USA as long as it is a legal procedure and not “unnecessary cosmetic surgery”, and can be substantiated by documents. This is the same requirement for procedures done in the US.&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://www.irs.gov/publications/p502/index.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"&gt;IRS Publication 502&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;will give you more information and an extensive list of covered medical expenses.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;There is no specific rule for the substantiation documents. But generally, it should at least include name and address of the payee, amount and date of the payment, and a description of medical services.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is there any way you can request the clinic to provide you a document showing these items?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
