      <description>&lt;P&gt;It doesn't sound like you would have met the &lt;B&gt;time test &lt;/B&gt;for this to count as a moving expense, but it's possible that the Minnesota job could be a temporary job site.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You must work full-time for a minimum of 39 weeks during the initial 12-month period that starts on the day you arrive in the new location. See this link&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/tax-tips/General-Tax-Tips/IRS-Moving-Expense-Deductions/INF14389.html" target="_blank"&gt;https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/tax-tips/General-Tax-Tips/IRS-Moving-Expense-Deductions/INF143...&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If, on the other hand, your job in MN was expected to be a&lt;B&gt; temporary assignment, &lt;/B&gt;meant to last 1 year&lt;B&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/B&gt;or less (and this is what was spelled out at the beginning of the job), you may be able to deduct your lodging and travel for the duration of the assignment.
