      <description>&lt;P&gt;It is better to enter your Medical and Dental expenses in your Federal return in TurboTax.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Even if you take the Standard Deduction, this info will then flow into your State return for you without re-entering.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Many states will give you a deduction for expenses you entered in your Federal return that you were not able to claim there.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Type 'medical expenses' in the Search window, then 'Jump to medical expenses' for the entry area.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;There are some links in the following article you may find helpful:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;
