There is not a minimum number of miles that you must drive
in order to claim the miles as part of your medical expenses. If you are driving for a medical appointment,
even if the trip is only a few miles, then the mileage can be claimed. You should be able to provide documentation
(if asked) to justify the miles that you claimed, such as a log showing the
date, miles driven, and purpose of the trip.

You also asked about whether there is a certain number of
miles that must be driven to qualify to claim overnight lodging expenses. The IRS does not define a distance. There is a statement in Publication 502 regarding
the lodging expense stating that it is for medical treatment “in another city”
and the trip is for receiving medical services.
