    <description>Second home was not rented at all during the year 2016 before being sold on April 2016 (and we did not live in it either). It was rented previous years (2012 to 2015) though.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can we still claim deductions for the Mortgage interest (Form 1098) and the prorated property tax ?</description>
