      <description>&lt;P&gt;You start off by entering your son the same as if he were a dependent. In the course of the dependent interview, as Hal_Al said in his comment, it will ask you the necessary questions to determine that he is not a dependent. When you finish entering him it will tell you that you cannot claim him as a dependent but might be able to use him for EIC.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
