Should FSA withholdings for medical expenses, not child/dependent care, be showing in Box 10 of my 2018 W-2? I think it should be Box 14, if at all.

I asked my payroll office and they said it didn't matter whether it was for medical or child care, it went in box 10.

If I place it in Box 10 it becomes taxable unless I provide the name & SS# of a care provider.

This is the first year my company offered an FSA, so I think the payroll clerk is misreading the IRS page 17 instructions.

Box 10 is to report Dependent care benefits an employer provides to the employee.

It is not for use with any Flexible Spending Accounts.
