Property Tax Entry Does not work

I have paid off my mortgage. There is no way to enter my local property taxes as the box does not allow any entry. This has been an issue for years so this year I will try to get an answer. Next year, I will try a different tax package as TurboTax only gets stupider.

To enter, edit or delete Property Taxes -
Click on Federal Taxes
Click on Deductions and Credits
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Under Your Home
If paid directly
On Property Taxes, click on the start or update button

If there is a $0 in that field, that doesn't allow you to change it

THEN...there might be a Supporting Details (SD) sheet attached to that field.

Double-click on the $0 and the SD sheet should show up....then enter your actual $$ in the worksheet

...OR...delete the worksheet entirely when it shows up and you get full access to the normal entry for n ow and future years...(unless you really want the SD sheet there every year)

That actually worked! No idea how many YEARS I have had to put my taxes down in "Other" to get around this bug. Very helpful.
