You don't need to enter the 5498-SA in TurboTax. It's for your information only. The 'excess contribution' message usually occurs when you enter the amount that was on your W-2 in the HSA section again. It will be carried over from your W-2 entry, so you would only enter your $550 additional contribution in this section.

You can step through the HSA interview again to check your entries.

Are you married, you or your spouse has family HDHP coverage and your spouse contributed $4,300 ($5,300 if over age 50)? If so, you are subject to the family contribution limit and you've exceeded the family limit by $50. The family limit without catch-up is $8,550, $50 less than twice the $4,300 self-only limit.

Thank you dmertz for your quick response!

Both my wife and I are over 55 and we each have our own separate Self-only policies with HDHP. Our Total Household Limit is 10,600. I found where I incorrectly selected the wrong option for my wife and it no longer shows an excess payment.
