You cannot enter anything about mileage for driving to or from work. Commuting to and from work is not deductible.

It depends. If you are an employee, you cannot deduct employee expenses such as mileage to a temporary location, unless you are among a select group of workers, including armed forces reservists, performing artists, fee-basis government officials, disabled employees with impairment-related work expenses, and educators, who can still deduct certain unreimbursed employee expenses through 2025. After 2025, only educators are eligible to deduct qualified expenses.

If you live in a state that still allows these deductions, you can enter them in the Federal section of TurboTax under Employment expenses and the expenses will flow through to your State return. If you choose to work at a location far from your residence, that would still be nondeductible commuting.

If you are self-employed, you can generally deduct business mileage on Schedule C unless it represents commuting to a primary place of business from your home.
