Per my divorce decree, I claim one of our two children on my return. They are on the affordable care act on my ex-husband's return but I do not have the aca. I've submitted a binary statement explaining the situation as I did last year but I keep getting rejected. It seems as though the IRS has realized how many returns had problems with this area and it is asking me questions regarding the 1095-A for which I do not have access to the answers.

If anyone on your tax return is covered by Marketplace health insurance during the year, Form 1095-A should be included on your tax return.

If you can get a copy of your child's Form 1095-A and include it on your return, you will be able to clear the reject code and e-file your return.

If you are not able to get a copy of the Form 1095-A, you can paper file the tax return, but the IRS may send you a notice asking about the missing Form 1095-A.

See this TurboTax blog article for more information on fixing e-file reject code F8962-070.
