If your property taxes are paid through your escrow account with your lender the taxes paid will usually be on the Form 1098.

Click on Federal Taxes

Click on Deductions & Credit

Under Your Home

On Mortgage Interest and Refinancing (Form 1098), click the start button

If your lender does NOT pay the property taxes and you did NOT enter the taxes paid in the Mortgage Interest section, then you can enter the property taxes paid -

Click on Federal Taxes

Click on Deductions & Credit

Under Your Home

On Property (Real Estate) Taxes, click the start button

I am using the Desktop software. And you're correct, double-clicking on the field with the zero pops up the worksheet I need to enter my deduction. A bit different than the usual approach in Turbotax but this works, thanks very much!

The zero is a known glitch that transferred over from the prior year. I think you can also delete the supporting worksheet and enter it normally.

And you don't HAVE to use that worksheet every year...when it pops up hit the big red X at the top of the worksheet, and it's gone...and normal access to the interview field returns.

Those $0 values may show up in other areas too...IF you used Supporting Details in other areas.

A few folks have indicated that double-clicking doesn't always work for them (you do have to keep the mouse completely still). If you encounter this, you can click on the filed with the $0, then go up to the "Edit" menu items, and "Add Supporting Details" from the drop-down menu

Yep...Supporting Details worksheets transfer over from year-to-year.....so get rid if them if you don't really need them.
