topic 1040.tax2024 file dated 10/15 disappeared, regressed to 10/10/25 version in Deductions & credits

We e-filed 2024 1040 timely on 10/15/25. IRS rejected because the VIN on Clean Vehicle credit (Form 8936 Schedule A) didn't match IRS database. Spent 5 days trying to get the selling dealership to file appropriate paperwork, but their work didn't make it to IRS in time. So, plan was to open the rejected file, remove the Clean Vehicle credit request, and re-file by the deadline of 10/20. When I opened Turbotax, I noticed that the return listed said it was from 10/10/25 and had not been filed. Surely not, I thought. It's probably just because the return was rejected, that it says it's not filed, and the date 10/10, weird but I didn't think anything more.

It ACTUALLY IS from 10/10/25- hundreds of hours prior to our finished filing. I've searched the hard drive, and OneDrive using every possible disk tool. I'm even familiar with file versioning, but never from an old dated file. Does anyone have a suggestion on how this file could have regressed, and whether the most recent file could be recovered? Has anyone ever had this happen?

As I looked further within TT Community, I noticed several users whose TAX2024 file had reverted to prior version, with no resolution as to why. Is this a known software issue and has there been a resolution that I've not yet found?
