Where to enter new plug-in vehicle info or vin in turbotax ?

It looks like you are posting from TurboTax Free Edition online. You'll need at least Deluxe in order to enter your Plug-In Vehicle information. If you try and enter it in Free Edition, it will prompt you to upgrade. This information gets reported on Form 8936, Qualified Plug-in Electric Drive Motor Vehicle Credit and that form is only supported in Deluxe or higher online versions.

NOTE: If you are using TurboTax CD/Download software, you can enter this information in any version of that but Deluxe is still recommended for the additional guidance when entering that info. You can find this software here TurboTax CD/Download

Once in Deluxe, you can use the steps below to get to that section.

Log into your account and click Take me to my return
Click Federal to the left and Deductions & Credits at the top
Scroll down to Cars and Other Things You Own and click Show More
Then click Start/Revisit next to Energy-Efficient Vehicles
On the next screen, you are asked What type of alternative energy vehicle did you buy in 2017? and you select the answer
Then select the Year Of Your Plug-in Electric Drive Motor Vehicle on next screen and Continue
You'll enter the VIN and all other details on Make, Model, etc on the next screen which should be the Tell Us More About Your Plug-In Electric Drive Motor Vehicle screen

Another way to get to this section in Deluxe:

Log into your account and click Take me to my return
Then click in Search box in top right and type in electric vehicle and hit enter
Select jump to electric vehicle from that results list
Go through and enter information there until you get to Tell Us More About Your Plug-In Electric Drive Motor Vehicle screen
