My expenses are equal to the deductible on my health plan. But I had dozens of tests, physicians and procedures during my hospital stay.

You only need to enter your total unreimbursed medical expenses in TurboTax. Just keep the details in your tax records, in case you have to prove the total.

There is no need to enter details by category. The categories proposed in TurboTax serve only as reminder for you. You can enter your total in any category. TurboTax will transfer your total medical expenses to Schedule A.

You have to show receipts and bills, only if you are audited by IRS.

@fredh2
