topic Federal vs state deductions in Deductions & credits

I have a question, would the PA state and federal deductions be the same? In other words I typed in all my deductions on my federal first and then it asked for my PA state deductions after I was done with the federal. Would I just type all the same deductions for the State as I did the federal?

Information flows from the federal return to the state return. If you entered itemized deductions in your federal they flow to the state. If they have any effect on your PA return, the information should already be on the form.

No, they are different. Please check PA Deductions and Credits as there are differences with the federal. Anything allowed on the federal will carryover. You will need to add any PA only deductions like employee business expenses.
