Reload Tax Return after 2023 software reinstall

I needed to reinstall my 2023 Turbo Tax Desktop software due to a computer problem. After I reinstalled it, I tried to open my 2023 tax return which I previously could open without a problem. I get a message saying that I need to purchase the Illinois tax module to open my return. I never used or purchased the Illinois software when I first completed my tax return. I only purchased Minnesota and Wisconsin software. Looking at the PDF file I saved it does show an Illinois tax return. Not sure why this appears since I did not purchase the 2023 Illinois software. How do I open the tax return without having to purchase the Illinois software?

When you click on the TurboTax Icon on your desktop, you should be able to open your Federal return (if the .tax2023 file is also on your computer).

You can Delete the Illinois State if you don't need it. At the File menu at the top left, choose Remove State Return.

If you purchased Minnesota and Wisconsin, Illinois may have been your free state that came with your TurboTax Desktop purchase.
