      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/5660095"&gt;@bayougirllove&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;- no you can't.&amp;nbsp; Here is the IRS definition of "totally and permanently disabled":&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;"The person can't perform significant duties over a reasonable period of time while working for pay or profit in a competitive work situation for at least the minimum wage because of a physical or mental condition."&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Regardless of having T1D, if your son is no longer in school, you provide more than 50% of his support and he earned less than $5,050 in 2024 you can still claim him.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
