      <description>&lt;P&gt;The IRS requires you to file form 8889 (reporting on activity in your HSA) only if there were &lt;B&gt;contributions &lt;/B&gt;to your HSA or &lt;B&gt;distributions &lt;/B&gt;from your HSA in 2018. You say that you did not spend any money from your HSA in 2018 (I assume that's what "deduct from" means), so did you or anyone (like your employer) make any contributions to your HSA in 2018?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If yes, then you have to file the 8889, which means upgrading to at least the Deluxe product (because the Free Edition does not support form 8889), but if you did not, if (1) you don't have a code W in box 12 on your W-2 and if (2) you don't do the HSA interview (do a Search for &lt;B&gt;hsa &lt;/B&gt;(lower case) and jump to it), the TurboTax won't even know that you have an HSA and won't do form 8889.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
