Schedule E - Car and Truck Expenses Worksheet

Hello

Turbo tax is asking me questions about Car usage towards Schedule E - Car and Truck Expenses Worksheet.

I do not have any mileage or car travel expenses towards Schedule E (rental property) for the year 2023 that I am filing taxes for. What should I answer to all the questions then? Or is there a way to remove this portion / form as it does not apply? (Note - In prior year 2022, I did have some mileage expenses that I added towards Schedule E (rental property) in 2022 tax return).

You have options depending on future needs:

delete the vehicle
mark that you stopped using the vehicle
delete the forms
answer with zero for miles and expenses to keep the vehicle worksheets.

If you will be using the vehicle again, you may want to keep your records as part of your return. If you are done with the vehicle, just delete it. You should be able to delete the vehicle inside the program.

To delete the vehicle, go into the vehicle summary and select delte

Desktop: If you are working in the cd/download TurboTax program:
1. On the top right, there is a FORMS button.
2. Click on FORMS.
3. Locate the form you want to delete.
4. Click on the form name.
5. Below the form, bottom left, select DELETE FORM button
