If you are an employee who receives a W-2 then your employee business expenses are not deductible on a federal tax return due to the tax code changes in effect for tax years 2018 thru 2025.

If you are an employee with a W2 you can't deduct expenses on the federal return. Is that maybe a state deduction? It will be covered when you go though the state return. If you get a 1099NEC for your income you can deduct expenses and home office.
